The Eyelid Lift Procedure
The process of an eyelid lift involves several key steps.
Consultation: Before you receive an eyelid lift, you’ll have a thorough consultation with one of our surgeons—Dr. Arman Haghighi, Dr. Brian Rowan, or Dr. Syrus Haghighi. During this meeting, they will assess your eyelids, discuss your aesthetic goals, and create a personalized treatment plan. Photographs may be taken for reference.
On the day of the procedure, you’ll receive anesthesia to ensure comfort. Depending on the extent of the surgery, this may involve local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia.
Your surgeon will make precise incisions in the natural folds of the eyelids to minimize visible scarring. For upper eyelid surgery, the incisions are placed along the natural crease of the eyelid. For lower eyelid surgery, the incisions can be made just below the lower lash line or inside the lower eyelid.
Through these incisions, excess skin, fat, and muscle are carefully removed or repositioned to achieve a smoother and more youthful appearance.
Once the necessary adjustments are made, the incisions are closed with fine sutures. In some cases, adhesive strips may be used.
After the procedure, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort. These effects are typically temporary and resolve within a few weeks. Postoperative instructions will include guidelines for caring for your eyes and minimizing swelling.
